A Perth radio listener has helped find a missing man after hearing about his plight only minutes earlier.

89-year-old Giuseppe Bolzicco went missing on Wednesday morning after leaving his Mounth Hawthorn home to buy items from an Osborne Park hardware store..

The morning family friend Paul called radio station 6PR and asked members of the public to keep an eye out for Mr Bolzicco and his white Toyota Yaris.

A short time later a listener named Prue phoned the station saying she was following Mr Bolzicco’s car in Fremantle.

The radio station phoned police, who tracked down Mr Bolzicco thanks to the location provided by Prue.

Mr Balzicco’s daughter Suzie told 7 News she was relieved her father had been found but had no idea how he ended up in Fremantle.
