Citisport Radio is a new London sports radio station that will be launching in early 2018. The station will be broadcasting to 10 million Londoners across AM, DAB, Mobile and digital platforms.

We passionately believe that London has room for another sports radio station and so do our backers. Kelvin Mackenzie, founder of talkSPORT Radio, Nigel Wray, owners of rugby’s European Champion Saracens and Stephen Lansdown of Hargreaves Lansdown. The station will offer a more modern and fresh take on sports radio and with so many professional clubs based in London we will have so much to keep London busy with.

We are looking for talent that wants to be different, that wants to challenge the norm, is passionate about sport and what they do. Citisport is looking for a PROGRAMME DIRECTOR to manage the stations output. This is a critical appointment and this person will have a huge impact on the stations success. The successful applicant will be responsible for the recruitment, training and development, and day-to-day management of all staff in the programming department, encouraging creativity and commercial awareness in the team. The Programme Director will have a clear understanding of the purpose and format of the station and be willing to challenge the norm of traditional sports radio. You will plan the stations output, plan the schedule and oversee the work of the entire programming team.

The applicant will ideally need to be able to host their own show on the station however we will explore applicants in exceptional circumstances.

Ideal Requirements:

  • A good understanding of radio programming regulations
  • Ability to host and produce their own show
  • Ability to work in a high pressured environment
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment
  • Familiar with studio systems
  • Extensive contacts in the radio industry
