Dobo Quits SCA

SCA Chief Creative Officer, Guy Dobson, has resigned and will leave his role at SCA effectively immediately.

Guy says: “I’m calling time on the SCA phase of my career. It’s a wonderful company with an amazing leadership team, great radio people and is set up well for a big year ahead. After ten years in some high-level roles, I feel it’s time to move on and chase down other adventures and opportunities.

“To everyone who’s helped shaped my career at SCA I thank you wholeheartedly. You’ll all get a mention in my game changers podcast later in 2019! Vaya con Dios amigos.”

SCA’s CEO Grant Blackley says: “Guy has had a long and illustrious career at SCA starting in radio as announcer and working in a number of key leadership roles. He leaves SCA in a strong position for future growth and we thank him for his enormous contribution and the development and growth of our Triple M and Hit Networks.”

SCA wishes Guy every success in the next phase of his career.

Guy Dobson started in regional radio then joined Austereo on air and later moved to programming. In 2002 he left Austereo to join programming consultancy ESP, then in 2005 rejoined Austereo as Group PD. In 2014 he was appointed Executive Director of Metropolitan Operations and later Chief Content Officer. While working at Austereo, Guy Dobson also formed Resonate Broadcasters with business partners Rex Morris and Sally Dobson, a business which now owns stations in Australia and Hawaii.

When Dobson’s Resonate bought its first two small regional stations in 2008 he told radioinfo: “I can’t be programming Austereo forever. I’m 42 now. By 46, I think I should be working for myself…”
