Crufts' 2020 winning dog is bagging attention for perhaps all the wrong reasons.

The canine competition was won this year by an adorable Dachshund called Maisie, owned by Kim McCalmont.

But, as Maisie took her victory lap on Sunday (March 8) for Best in Show, Channel 4 viewers watching at home and spectators at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham were in stitches Maisie decided to do a massive dump on the artificial turf.

A nervous poo? A victory turd? Whatever the reason Maisie did her business during her moment of glory, the world of social media absolutely loved it.

"There's nothing better than winning a prestigious competition and celebrating with a big old poo," said one viewer.

"Full credit to Crufts gallery for keeping the camera on Maisie for the duration of her victory shit," added another.

"Oh my days!" added another. "Maisie having a poo on her lap of honour is just brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

"She's basically saying to her owner 'I've been poked and prodded all day and this is what I think about it. Now get me some treats because I am a winning queen.'"

Thankfully, the rest of the competition passed smoothly (ahem), with no stage invaders descending upon the event this year.
